New Exterior Details
One of the most distinctive features of an updated model is the exterior changes. You’ll notice that the 2026 RAV4 has a more squared-off silhouette, both in front and rear fascia. Horizontal lines complement the design, from the headlights that flow into the RAV4 logo badge actress the middle of the hatchback to the signature headlights that split into two and sit above the large front grille. Available exterior options we have confirmed include 20-inch alloy wheels in gloss-black finish, raised roof rails with cross bars, and Rigid Industries® fog lights. The popular Woodland Edition trim will still be available, ideal for those who want a fully-equipped version of this SUV to hit the trails at Cleveland National Forest. A never-before-seen trim will be the GR SPORT.
Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid Powertrains
Similarly to the Camry, Toyota has made the switch with the 2026 RAV4 to get rid of the traditional combustion engine and include the hybrid powertrain on all trims. You’ll still have the option to choose between FWD and AWD, enjoying up to 226 combined horsepower or up to 236 combined horsepower. Good news for those who have a small camper or boat – this new RAV4 maintains impressive towing capabilities with up to 3,500-lb. of maximum capacity1. We also want to mention that there will also be a PHEV (Plug-In Hybrid Vehicle) version of the RAV4 available, replacing the RAV4 Prime. The PHEV powertrain is set to be capable of up to 350 horsepower and have a 20 percent increase in all-electric driving from past versions at up to 50 miles.
Advanced Technology
Touchscreen sizes are continuing to increase and the 2026 RAV4 stays up to date with a standard 10.5-inch center console display and an available 12.9-inch version. Digital controls for climate control create a modern and clean look. Behind the steering wheel will sit a standard 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, allowing all customers to enjoy a customizable display for viewing directions, vehicle speed, posted speed limit, efficiency, and much more. Toyota is also launching a new version of their audio multimedia system which will be enabled by Arene and has an optimized Native Voice Assistant for more seamless controls while your hands stay safely on the steering wheel.
