Before you even leave your driveway, you should make sure that you have the tools necessary to change a flat tire in the event that you encounter debris on your way to Cowles Mountain. A spare tire is essential, as it will let you continue your trip and stop by a service center without needing a tow. You also want to have a car jack in your trunk, as well as a lever to operate properly. In order to remove the lug nuts on your tire, a torque wrench will be necessary. If the spare tire is low on pressure, it may benefit you to have a portable air compressor with you. First Steps

Start by placing it on the bolts where the old one was and screw on the lug nuts by hand. Once the tire is in place, you can begin lowering the vehicle back onto the ground. Before you fully remove the car jack, tighten each lug nut with the torque wrench in an alternating pattern. This ensures a secure fit.
